Výstava prezentuje slovenskému publiku po prvýkrát súčasnú maliarsku tvorbu ruského výtvarníka Vladimíra Domničeva a českého umelca Josefa Valčíka.
Vladimír Domničev, pôvodom Rus, študoval na Inžinierskej technickej akadémii v Moskve, kde získal titul Ing. a neskôr i CSc. Bytostne ho však vždy viac zaujímalo umenie. Na prelome tisícročí sa rozhodol ako slobodný umelec krajinu opustiť a dnes žije a tvorí v Prahe, z ktorej atmosféry často čerpá námety. Korene jeho umeleckých inšpirácii siahajú k tvorbe autorov európskej moderny. Vo svojom umeleckom výraze je veľmi sugestívny, od impresionistickej dojmovosti smeruje k expresívnemu maliarskemu gestu. Jeho umelecká výpoveď je výrazom vnútorných stavov človeka, na ktorého zmysly a city pôsobí okolitý svet. Žánrovo, tematicky a motivicky sa maľba Vladimíra Domničeva dominantne dotýka krajiny, zátišia, portrétu, mestskej scenérie, večerných ulíc, anonymných mestských chodcov, urbánnych momentiek, pouličných kaviarní, ruchu mesta či atmosféry upršaného počasia. Domničev využíva špecifickú techniku práce so špachtľou. Farbu ňou nie len nanáša a vrství, ale aj stiera či zoškrabuje. Osobitá autorská technika, ktorú si vytvoril a jeho nezameniteľný štýl predstavujú vysokú a dnes už osvedčenú umeleckú hodnotu, ktorú potvrdzuje aj rastúci záujem zberateľov o jeho tvorbu.
Josef Valčík, rodák z českého Kyjova, absolvoval vysokoškolské štúdium dejín umenia a kultúry, no k výtvarnému umeniu má blízko aj prakticky, ako vynikajúci maliar. Svoju tvorbu predstavil na výstavách doma i v zahraničí, pričom zaujal viacerých milovníkov umenia. Je zakladajúcim členom Združenia výtvarných umelcov Prof Art Brno. Tvorba Josefa Valčíka zahŕňa maľby, sochy i fotografiu. V maľbe sa venuje aktu, kvetinovému zátišiu, krajine a tvorí aj abstraktné, expresívne ladené obrazy. Pozoruhodné sú najmä jeho obrazy kvetín a kytíc, prezentované na výstave, ktoré balansujú na hranici tradičného žánru zátišia a abstraktnej maľby. Motív kvetín sa pre autora stáva východiskovým bodom, z ktorého sa vydáva do priestorov expresívnej, niekedy až gesticky živelnej abstraktnej obraznosti. Jeho originálny a nezameniteľný „vášnivý pastózny rukopis“, ako ho pomenoval profesor dejín a teórie umenia Marián Zervan, nadobúda často až reliéfny charakter. Energia farby a umelcovo maliarske gesto doslova vystupujú z obrazu a prinášajú divákovi autentický, radostný a oslobodzujúci estetický zážitok. V súčasnosti nemá Valčíkova tvorba vo svete umenia kvalitatívne aspoň podobnú štýlovú paralelu, čo svedčí o mimoriadnej originalite autora.
Výstavu prináša do Košíc spoločnosť ARTisti & Co, s. r. o., ktorá vytvorila v Európe unikátny koncept „supermarketov s umením“.
